Palmer House, A Hilton Hotel
The second largest hotel in the Windy City is Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel, which lays claim to 1,641 rooms. It’s perhaps most famous for its grand, opulent lobby, complete with Tiffany chandeliers. As a member of the Historic Hotels of America, it is recognised by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of the finest hotels in the US. The third largest hotel in Chicago, and one of its most historic hotels for groups, the 1,544-room Hilton Chicago opened in 1927. Among these are 13 recently-renovated hospitality suites, ranging from 800 to 1,400 square feet. All boast views of Lake Michigan and have a living room area. There are three dining options at the Hilton Chicago: the 720 South Grill, serving local Midwest fare, the Herb N’ Kitchen culinary market, and Kitty O’Sheas Irish pub.
